Municipal, provincial leaders come together at first Atlantic Local Government Ministers’ Meeting

Four Atlantic municipal associations – the Union of Municipalities of New Brunswick (UMNB), Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador (MNL), Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities (NSFM), and Federation of Prince Edward Island Municipalities (FPEIM), as well as provincial ministers and government representatives from across the region – came together for the first Atlantic Local Government Ministers’ Meeting in Halifax to discuss shared challenges and priorities facing municipalities across the region.

The meeting brought together municipal and provincial leaders on issues affecting communities throughout
Atlantic Canada, including cellular service, harassment and incivility, and other topics relevant to municipalities.

This inaugural meeting provided an opportunity to bring shared priorities forward, exchange perspectives, and discuss areas where continued collaboration could benefit municipalities across Atlantic Canada and the communities they serve.
