But first:
The province announced one new case of COVID-19 in the southeast region, which includes the Tantramar area.
The person who tested positive is in their 20’s.
The new case is travel related and not linked to the outbreak in the Campbellton region.
Testing seems to have ramped up in the southeast zone.
Yesterday, more than half of new results reported by the province were from the southeast region—about 240 tests.
The day before the zone had 210 reported tests, just under one third of the total for the province.
In Nova Scotia, one more person has died with COVID-19.
A woman in her 70’s with underlying conditions, who was not a resident of along term care home, died with the disease.
One more case has also been reported in Nova Scotia.
It’s not clear how many active cases there are in Nova Scotia at the moment, due to errors in reported numbers.
The province says it is working on the problem and will release updated numbers this week.
The results are in and there’s good news and bad news for Sackville in its latest survey of town residents.
Of the two hundred and fifty-nine people who responded to the online survey earlier this year, more than eighty percent said they were satisfied with the quality of life in Sackville.
Survey respondents were especially satisfied with the town’s fire services, garbage collection and its parks.
But there was much less satisfaction with the state of Sackville’s roads and sidewalks and the town’s efforts at economic development.
Only half of those who filled out the survey said they were satisfied with how the town spends tax dollars and how it is governed.
The online survey was conducted in February and March.
Amherst Town council is considering going all-electronic for this fall’s municipal election.
At a town council meeting Monday, a staff report suggested that
a fully electronic election may be the only way to meet pandemic protocols and ensure the health and safety of voters.
Council asked for a further report on an all-electronic election, which will come back on June 22nd.

Two Sackville writers are on the short list for this year’s New Brunswick Book Awards.
Chris Eaton’s third novel, Symphony No. 3, is shortlisted for the top fiction prize.
Symphony No. 3 follows the life of renowned French composer Camille Saint-Sans [Saint-Saëns] as he ascends from child prodigy to worldwide fame.
Leslie Kern’s book, Feminist City: A Field Guide, is shortlisted for the
Nonfiction category.
Kern is a feminist urban geographer, professor, and director of Women’s and Gender Studies at Mount Allison.
Her book combines memoir, feminist theory, pop culture, and geography to expose what is hidden in plain sight—the social inequalities built right into our cities, homes, and neighbourhoods.
The finalists will be announced in an online ceremony, on Thursday night at 7pm.

New Brunswick is re-deploying 70 lead positions in the anglophone school system, taking them away from district level, specialized work, and putting them in schools.
Education Minister Dominic Cardy says the move is needed to accommodate more teachers in classrooms.
Among the 70 positions to be re-assigned are 10 diversity and inclusion coaches, who help train teachers and school teams in how to be more respectful and inclusive of marginalized students.
The Tantramar COVID-19 task force has been busy for the past few months helping area groups share information and resources in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
CHMA’s Erica Butler spoke with co-chair Carolle de Ste Croix to find out more about how the Task Force got started and what its been up to.
