She delivered a speech, along with the addresses provided by the university council chairman Denis Mallet, as well as by the Vice-Chancellor of the Université of Moncton, Denis Prud’homme.

A report into New Brunswick’s air quality from 2023 shows 10 episodes where contaminant levels emitted by industry created higher levels of contaminants than allowed.

The province’s Environment Department says they were addressed – quote – “immediately” through corrective actions by industry or changing weather conditions.

Regulated industries are required to participate in the surveillance system.

Air quality monitoring in New Brunswick is a partnership between Environment and Climate Change Canada and the Department of Environment and Local Government under the National Air Pollution Surveillance Agreement.

American forecasters are expecting yet another unusually busy hurricane season over the North Atlantic.

They say warmer-than-normal ocean waters are to blame.

Still, they don’t think it will be as chaotic as 2024 — the third-costliest season on record after it spawned killer storms Beryl, Helene and Milton.

The season begins June 1st — and the Canadian Hurricane Centre in Halifax is expected to offer its outlook later today.

The final results from a federal election recount in Newfoundland are expected today.

Elections Canada says the judicial recount for the riding of Terra Nova—The Peninsulas began in Marystown on May 12th.

It was triggered when the initial tally showed Liberal Anthony Germain defeating Conservative Jonathan Rowe by just 12 votes after the April 28th election.

Counting was delayed because the town had to shut off its main water line on Wednesday and close its public buildings.
