Baie Verte’s Winegarden Estates is on a path to new ownership

On today’s show, reporter Lara MacMillan heads to a Baie Verte winery which is seeing a generational change in management. Chris and Alex Farella are learning the ropes at Winegarden Estates in hopes of one day taking over ownership of the vineyard, winery, and distillery that produces fruit and grape wines, schnapps and liqueurs.

  • Administrative offices are closed at the Sackville RCMP detachment until August 19, but Corporal Andrew Paynter says the station is still open and residents can contact officers via a phone on site.
  • Tantramar council has approved the renewal of a contract with Heather Wells to run the canteen at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre, a service that costs the municipality about $25,000 a year to sustain.
