First line-up announced for Sappyfest

Sappyfest will return to the streets of Sackville this summer and organizers have just released their first sneak peek at who will be hitting the stage for the much-loved indie festival.

A dozen artists were announced this week in the first line-up for Sappyfest and, as expected, includes an eclectic mix of musicians – from Montreal-based indie pop duo Bibi Club, to genre-bending punk band from Vancouver Piss, to a songwriter and film composer from Toronto Eliza Niemi, just to name a few.

The festival will take place from July 31 to August 2 and advance weekend passes are now on sale. Located mainly on Bridge Street in the centre of downtown Sackville, the festival grounds include a performance tent, a beer garden, a merchandise market, vendor grounds, and an open space with picnic tables. Many off-site venues are also used during the festival, including Struts Gallery, the Royal Canadian Legion, Ducky’s Pub, and the Sackville United Church, among others.
