A young up-and-coming Sackville curler will be heading to Timmins, Ontario next month to compete in the Canadian U18 Championships.
Maizie Carter skipped her team to a U18 provincial championship title over the weekend in Oromocto, earning the right to head to nationals in Timmins, which gets under way February 8.
Team Carter, who plays out of the Gage Curling Club and consists of Maizie, Avery Colwell, Gabrielle King, Sophie Duplessis and coach Brian King, went undefeated in all six of their games to become the 2026 New Brunswick U18 provincial champions.
“We are thrilled to be representing New Brunswick and wearing the black and yellow at nationals in February,” the team posted on their Facebook page after their win.
