Celebrate the new book ‘Mary Pratt: A Love Affair with Vision’ by joining Curator Mireille Eagan and Mount Allison’s Dr. Anne Koval for a conversation on the artist. Mary Pratt’s luminescent paintings capture reality in a way that few artists have been able to achieve — the chip in a glass bowl, the play of light across a dish-strewn supper table, the vulnerability of a naked woman. Replete with symbolism, Pratt’s work elevates the traditional still life by transforming the everyday into the iconic. This event takes place on Wednesday, November 1st at 7pm in the Motyer-Fancy Theatre at the Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts. A reception will follow, all are welcome and the author will be available for autographs. Copies of the books will be available at Tidewater Books after the event.
