New Brunswick Progressive Conservative Leader Blaine Higgs has accused the Provincial Liberals of plagiarizing portions of his party’s election platform.
Higgs says there are several similarities between his party’s pledges and theirs, pointing to his plan to change how doctors are paid to provide incentives for them to see more patients.
He says the Liberals don’t seem to have any new ideas for health care.
Liberal Leader Susan Holt could not be immediately reached for comment.

R-C-M-P in New Brunswick are looking for someone who may have been in a vehicle involved in a single-vehicle crash that killed two people.
They say officers were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 2, near Hay Settlement, in the early hours on Thursday.
They say an initial investigation showed the vehicle lost control and drove into a ditch.
A 45-year-old man died at the scene of the crash, and a 43-year-old man died later in hospital as a result of his injuries.
Police say they have reason to believe a third person may have been in the vehicle, though they have not identified the person.

Public health officials in P-E-I say more than 550 people have reported symptoms of gastrointestinal sickness following an outbreak of norovirus at a shellfish festival over the weekend.
The province’s chief public health officer says an online questionnaire for attendees of the P-E-I International Shellfish Festival in Charlottetown helped gather data about the outbreak.
Public health says four people had to go to emergency departments and one person was hospitalized because of the sickness.
Officials are recommending additional health inspections before and during the festival, enhanced sanitation during food preparation and preventing food handlers from working when sick.

(PEI-Ferry-Investigation)
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says there will not be an independent investigation into what caused the M-V Confederation to collide with a ferry wharf in Wood Islands, P-E-I.
The collision was classified as a Class 5 occurrence, meaning it doesn’t prompt a comprehensive investigation and report because there is little likelihood that new safety lessons can be learned.
The board says data from the incident will be recorded in suitable scope for possible future safety analysis, statistical reporting, or archival purposes.
The M-V Confederation experienced a mechanical failure on September 15th, which led to a collision that damaged its bow door.

(NS-Budget-Update)
Nova Scotia’s N-D-P opposition has their doubts about the Progressive Conservative government’s latest budget update.
Finance Minister Allan MacMaster has revised his spring budget forecast, increasing the deficit from 187-million dollars to 654 million.
N-D-P Leader Claudia Chender says the government has predicted such a deficit in prior years, yet it turned into a surplus.
In the meantime, she wonders about 243 million dollars in extra spending that didn’t go through the spring budget process.
She notes some of that spending wasn’t urgent. Meanwhile the housing budget – which is urgent – is being underspent.
