A wildfire in Albert County has been contained after being reported this Sunday.
According to reporting based on New Brunswick’s Department of Natural Resources wildfire dashboard, the fire was first reported shortly after 2 pm Sunday and grew to just over nine hectares (or 22 acres) before being contained.
The fire was one of the latest reminders that New Brunswick’s forest fire season is underway. The province says its Fire Watch page provides current fire status information and burning restrictions, with burn notices updated during wildfire season.
The Albert County fire also had regional visibility, with smoke reported across parts of Tantramar. Residents are encouraged to check provincial burn restrictions before lighting outdoor fires and to report wildfires or smoke concerns through official channels.
