Horizon Health Network VP Community Jean Daigle said via email on Tuesday that there is currently no backlog of tests at the Sackville COVID-19 assessment centre in the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre. The assessment centre has, “the capacity to perform around 50 tests per day, with the majority of appointments being booked within 24 hours,” said Daigle.
Another change will simplify the process for requesting a test in Sackville. People using the New Brunswick government’s online form will now be able to select the Sackville site as their location choice.
Since the centre opened on January 26, locals wanting to request the Sackville testing site had to first select a Moncton location, and then ask for the Sackville location when they received a call back from Horizon Health Network. That has now changed, and the Sackville location is listed on the government’s form.
The Sackville testing site, like all others in the province, is available by appointment only, and currently runs from 1pm to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. The site is located on the mezzanine level of the Tantramar Civic Centre, at 182 Main Street. Anyone arriving for a test should go to the front entrance by the upper level drop off area. Anyone else heading to the Civic Centre is being asked to use the side entrance, just off the main parking lot.
