Advance polls are open today across New Brunswick for the upcoming local government elections.
Voters in Tantramar and across the province can cast ballots early today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is the second advance polling day, following the first advance vote on Saturday, May 2.
Election day is set for Monday, May 11.
This year’s vote will elect local government councils, rural district advisory committees, and district education council representatives across New Brunswick.
In Tantramar, voters will choose a mayor and councillors across the municipality’s five wards, with some races already decided, including Ward 4 where Kristen LeBlanc has been elected by acclamation, having no other candidates run against her.
Residents can confirm their polling location through Elections New Brunswick’s “Where do I Vote” tool. The tool lists a voter’s electoral region, polling division, returning office, and importantly – where you can vote.
Elections NB says voters who are already on the list of electors do not need to show ID when voting. They will state their name and address to the poll worker. First-time voters, or anyone who needs to update their information, may be asked for identification.
Special ballots are also available for voters who cannot vote during advance polls or on election day.
