For eight years, Debbie Shea has run Village Square Take-Out in the heart of Dorchester. Her restaurant window looks directly onto the intersection where Route 106 meets Cape Road and Woodlawn Road, and says what she sees doesn’t match the municipality’s traffic report.
On August 25th, 2025 at a Committee of the Whole meeting, Tantramar municipal engineer John Eppell told council a radar study conducted in May and June showed low traffic volumes, average speeds under the limit, and less than one percent of drivers over 65 km/h. On that basis the report concluded that it was not believed that changes to the traffic control in the area of the intersection were warranted.
