Voters in Tantramar are heading to the polls today as municipal election day gets underway across New Brunswick.
Polls are open until 8pm, with residents voting for local government councils, rural district advisory committees, and district education council representatives across the province.

In Tantramar, residents are choosing a mayor and councillors across the municipality’s five wards. The mayor’s race includes Sabine Dietz, Terry Jones, and Debbie Wiggins-Colwell, according to the Elections NB candidate list.
Most council races are also being decided today. In Ward 4, Kristen LeBlanc has already been elected by acclamation after no other candidates filed nomination papers for that seat.
The election comes as the next Tantramar council prepares to take on a range of issues already active in the municipality, including budget decisions, infrastructure planning, fire service governance, recreation programming, and regional concerns tied to electricity costs and development.
