Nova Scotia’s Labour Department has lifted a stop-work order at a Halifax Walmart where a woman was found dead in a walk-in oven.
The department says the order was lifted Monday evening, after officials determined the store had complied with safety standards.
However, a Walmart spokesperson says the store on Mumford Road will remain closed until further notice.
Nineteen-year-old Gursimran Kaur was found dead in the store’s bakery on October 19th, and police have yet to complete their investigation.

N-D-P Leader Claudia Chender is kicking off her day in the Halifax area, where she will campaign with local candidates and take part in a live, hour-long radio interview.
Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Houston has scheduled a media event at his campaign headquarters in Halifax.
Nova Scotians go to the polls on November 26th.

Susan Holt will be sworn in as New Brunswick’s 35th premier on Saturday afternoon.
Lieutenant-Governor Brenda Murphy will administer the oath of office in the legislative assembly, starting at 2 p-m.
Holt and members of her cabinet will take the oath during a ceremony attended by dignitaries, family members and invited guests.
The province’s Liberal leader led the party to a majority win following the general election on October 21st.

R-C-M-P in eastern Newfoundland have confirmed that human remains found in Placentia Bay were those of a missing Canadian Coast Guard employee.
The employee went missing from the Canada Coast Guard vessel Vincent Massey on September 16th.
The coast guard turned over the search-and-rescue operation to the Newfoundland and Labrador R-C-M-P on September 17th.
The Mounties say the remains were found on October 19th.

The government of Newfoundland and Labrador released its audited financial statements to the House of Assembly today.
The province closed its fiscal year ending March 31st, 2024, with a 469-million deficit.
The province says the revised deficit reflects a decrease in federal revenues and an increase spending on things such as interest rates and health care.

Police in Newfoundland have charged an off-duty R-C-M-P officer with driving while impaired after a crash.
The Mounties say they were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Sunday morning near Glovertown, in central Newfoundland.
They say the 34-year-old driver failed a roadside breath test.
Police say they also suspended the Mountie’s driver’s licence and impounded his car, and his duty status with the police force is under review.
