Two men from the Rockport area were arrested on Monday morning after RCMP found illegal drugs at a property on Lower Rockport Road.
RCMP Corporal Andrew Paynter says police executed a search warrant Monday morning and seized an undisclosed quantity of what appeared to be crystal meth. The substance will now be tested at RCMP labs for confirmation.
Paynter says the investigation that led to the search started with information from a complaint received about one week ago. That led to police drafting a warrant to search for substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Paynter would not release the names of the men arrested, but said they were both “released on charges” with no conditions attached. They are now due in court on November 14.
One witness to the police operation on Monday morning told CHMA a number of police vehicles pulled into a residence at 241 Lower Rockport Road, about 700 metres past the Peck’s Cove Bridge.
According to Service New Brunswick, that property is owned by Jamie Douglas Martin and Joshua Adam Martin. It was purchased in June 2023 for $580,000.
