The New Brunswick Department of Health is looking for public input in preparation of the province’s five-year health plan.

Minister Dorothy Sherpard says that while she has only been Minister of Health for a short time, just four months, she knows that New Brunswick’s healthcare system needs improvement.

She says that “the demands being placed on [New Brunswick’s] health-care system and on the people working in it are extraordinary.”

The healthcare system in New Brunswick, says Shephard, does not meet patients’ needs and is a frustrating place to work.

She says that “the future of our health-care system depends upon the actions we take in the coming months.”

Share your feedback by email at healthplansante@gnb.ca. Your feedback may be used to shape the future of New Brunswick’s healthcare.

Shepherd will also be digitally visiting over ten New Brunswick communities, including the six communities affected by the changes proposed last winter.

In other words, Sackville should expect a virtual visit from Minister Shephard.

First Nations communities and frontline healthcare workers will have separate sessions.

Information on how to attend will be released in the coming weeks.
