COVID-19 symptoms are not always obvious. Here are some common symptoms of the virus:
- Fever above 38°C
- Dry cough
- More fatigue than usual
- More aches and pains than usual
- Sore throat
- Diarrhoea
- Conjunctivitis, otherwise known as pink eye
- Headache
- Loss of taste or smell
- In children, a rash on skin or discolouration of fingers or toes
More serious symptoms are:
- difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- chest pain or pressure
- loss of speech or movement

Those with mild symptoms with no pre-existing medical conditions can usually recover at home.
Remember, it typically takes between 5-6 days after COVID-19 infection for symptoms to show up, but it can take as long as 14 days. Just because you feel fine, doesn’t mean you do not have COVID-19.
