NL-Missing-Plane)

The search for a missing plane in Newfoundland and Labrador is ongoing.

Naviair, a Danish state-owned company providing air traffic service, told C-B-C News it received a report on Saturday that a single-engine aircraft flying from Happy Valley-Goose Bay to Greenland had gone missing with one person on board. 

Search efforts were suspended for part of Saturday due to weather conditions but resumed on Sunday.

Officials are searching by boat in the Sermitsiaq mountain area, situated 15 kilometres northeast of Nuuk (NOOHK’), Greenland’s capital city.

(NB-Murder-Charge)

Police in Woodstock, New Brunswick, have charged a 23-year-old woman with attempted murder after an alleged assault last week. 

Police responded to a report of a 74-year-old woman with serious injuries outside a residence on October 20th.

Officers charged a suspect with assault causing bodily harm, but that charge was upgraded to attempted murder after police reviewed the evidence.

Police are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of Houlton and Charles Streets between 8 and 10 p-m that evening to contact them if they have information.

(NB-Moped-Fatal)

An eight-year-old New Brunswick boy is dead following a collision between a vehicle and the moped he was a passenger on.

R-C-M-P in Tracadie say the collision was reported Friday night in Haut-Sheila at the intersection of Route 370 and Edmond Road.

Police say vehicle and the moped were travelling northbound on Route 370.

The boy was from Saint-Pons, New Brunswick, but his identity was not released.

(NB-Deer-Collision)

Police in New Brunswick are investigating a collision between a vehicle and a deer that claimed the life of a 43-year-old woman.

The crash was reported Thursday on Route 605 in Maple Ridge.

Investigators say it appears the deer was hit by one vehicle before it slammed into the victim’s car.

Police say the woman died at the scene.

(NS-Kentville-Drugs)

A 23-year-old has been arrested following a drug trafficking investigation in Kentville, Nova Scotia.

Earlier this month, Kentville Police Service began an investigation into cocaine trafficking in the downtown area. 

Canine units from Bridgewater Police came in to help in the investigation. 

Police say they charged a 23-year-old man with possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking and also seized cocaine, cash, two replica firearms and other evidence of drug trafficking.

(NS-Music-Awards)

The 2025 Nova Scotia Music and Industry Awards were handed out yesterday morning, awarding over 20 local artists and musicians. 

Big winners included Mo Kenney, who took home Songwriter of the Year and Music Video of the Year, as well as Terra Spencer, who won Entertainer of the Year and Folk/Roots Recording of the Year. 

Artist KAYO also snagged two awards, winning D-J of the Year and Hip Hop/Rap Recording of the Year. 

The awards were held in Yarmouth, and included performances by Kirsten Marell, Mo Kenney, Adina and others.
