A Fredericton lawyer found guilty of 29 professional misconduct charges has been disbarred by the Law Society of New Brunswick.
The law society says Stephen Hill was suspended from practising law in February 2025 after the governing body received multiple complaints.
In June, a discipline committee found him guilty of several offences, including misappropriating more than one-million dollars in client funds and failing to complete required work.
Hill is no longer allowed to practise law in New Brunswick and he must pay one-point-four-million dollars to the law society to cover the cost of a compensation fund and investigation costs. (CBC News)

A battery fire at a solar farm in Summerside, P-E-I, continues to smoulder this weekend — almost a week after the fire started.
City officials issued a statement advising residents they may still see more smoke around the Sunbank solar farm, which started operating in December 2023.
The statement says the smoke is the result of battery cells burning off, and flare-ups may continue until the fire burns itself out.
Officials say residents who are sensitive to smoke or have respiratory conditions should reduce their outdoor activities. (The Canadian Press)
